Our Vision & Values
Becoming Like Jesus, Living His Mission, Shaping His Church.
Mission and Purpose
We exist to follow in Jesus’ footsteps – to become more like Him. Apprenticing our lives to Jesus shapes how we reach others.
Vision
We envision people being transformed into Christlikeness in every sphere of life, leading to a multiplying movement of disciples, a network of Life Groups, and a missional presence in our community.
How We Pursue Vision
Life Together
Transformation happens best in small, trusted communities where we can be real, encouraging, supporting, and challenging one another to live out our faith daily. We call these Life Groups and ask every member to commit to one weekly.
Mission Shaped Christ
Growing in Christ shapes our mission, and we become Jesus’ hands and feet wherever we are, not waiting for people to come to us but meeting them where they are and walking with them toward Christ and community. We expect SCF to grow in multiple and diverse ways, not just by people attending on a Sunday. We encourage every church member to be missional wherever they are.
Flexible Presence, Incarnational Presence
Church structures and formats adapt to people, not the other way around. We seek to release church from rigid models and embrace Jesus’ incarnational way of being present where people live. We gather intentionally, and we send people into their communities purposefully.
Values – Shaping the culture of our church family
Remaining in Christ
Our life is centered entirely on Jesus. We are not interested in surface-level religion; we seek whole-life transformation. This pursuit is active: we continually invite the Holy Spirit to shape our hearts, habits, and actions, and we firmly root ourselves in the teaching and guidance of Scripture. Transformation is an inside-out process that makes us increasingly reflect the love and character of Christ in every part of our existence.
Relate with Love
We are a family committed to belonging and unity. This means actively creating space for everyone, regardless of background or story. Our community is marked by courageous love—we speak truth in grace and honesty to help one another grow. We commit to honouring one another across our many differences, believing that our shared life reflects the beauty of God’s diverse Kingdom.
Released on Mission
We don’t go on mission; we are the mission. Every member is released by God and viewed as an ambassador wherever they spend their week. Our homes, workplaces, schools, and neighbourhoods are our primary mission fields. We intentionally look for ways to bring hope, justice, and light, showing our local community what the beauty and love of God’s Kingdom truly looks like in action.
Resource with Generosity
Following the example of Christ, who came to serve, we believe in freely and wholeheartedly giving all that we have. This means resourcing our ministry and community with our time, spiritual gifts and skills, and financial resources. Generosity is a practical act of worship and how we ensure that others can tangibly encounter God’s love through SCF.
