Sundays 10:45am
Sunday service lasts about one and a half hours. We have a few brief announcements, a time of singing, prayer and a 40-minute message.
Our Children & Youth are encouraged to participate in the first 15 minutes of the main Sunday meeting when we worship together as a church and share family news. After a short time of sung worship, the children and youth leave the main meeting room to join their own groups.

We follow a bible-based curriculum and aim to include a range of age-appropriate activities that incorporate different learning styles. Fun, friendship and discipleship go hand in hand.
There are 5 age groups and the group your child or young person will attend is determined by the school year group they are in:
- Joiners – Birth and preschool age (leaders wear yellow shirts & lanyard)
- Explorers – Nursery to Reception (leaders wear green shirts & lanyard)
- Seekers – Year 1 and Year 2 (leaders wear blue shirts & lanyard)
- United – Year 3 to Year 6 (leaders wear red shirts & lanyard)
- Surround – Year 7 to Year 11 (leaders wear grey shirts & lanyard)
From time to time, we have an all-age service to allow us to be together as a whole church. This service is dynamic and interactive with elements for every age group within the church.

Parking
Disabled Access Parking: We have 2 designated parking spaces for visitors with a disability. However, on Sundays we try to keep our whole carpark available for people with limited mobility.
Parking: There are plenty of public car parks: a large Shirley Shoppers Car Park (behind Iceland) across the road; parking adjacent to Shirley Park (behind Aldi) and within Shirley Parkgate (Asda)– just a short walk away.

By Bus: #5 & #6 ( to Birmingham, to Solihull), #49 (to Solihull, to Rubery Great Park), #76 (to Solihull, to Northfield)
By Road: (i) From Birmingham – Drive South on the A34, out of Birmingham, Pass through Sparkbrook & Hall Green, Straight on at Robin Hood Island towards Shirley, Past Tesco on the Left, Straight on at the roundabout with Haslucks Green Road and Olton Road. We are situated on the right past the Saracen’s Head pub and behind Sugarlush Desserts.
(ii) From Motorway M42 – Exit at Junction 4, Onto the A34 North (towards Birmingham, Straight over 6 roundabouts. We are situated on the left past Aldi supermarket and behind Sugarlush Desserts.
By Rail: (i) Shirley Station – Continue left along Haslucks Green Road and turn right at the roundabout . We are situated on the right past the Saracen’s Head pub and behind Sugarlush Desserts. (ii) Hall Green Station –

Pass It On
Thursdays 1:00 am – 2:30 pm (Term time only)
A group for passing on skills, learning new things and sharing friendship and life experience with others. Come and learn and try cooking, gardening, crafts and more.
Thursday Morning Prayer
Thurdays 10:30am – 12:00pm
For women to pray together in different ways using worship, praise or scripture for different situations in the community and around the world.
Men
To create an environment which makes the Christian faith accessible to the average UK man and church a place where they can belong, get involved, make a difference and have fun.
As men within SCF we get excited about doing things together as men. Clearly we get huge enjoyment out of doing stuff with the women and children in our lives, but we recognise that there’s something special about just getting together as a bunch of blokes.
We’re delighted to partner with Christian Vision for Men (CVM) and tap into their resources and events. Together, we believe that we can make a positive difference within our community.
Fun / Social
Every couple of months we get together and do something where we can all just relax, hang out, catch-up and have some fun.
Discipleship
We meet regularly on a Friday evening over a meal and a beer to share and discuss topics affecting our lives and the world around us.
Seniors
Tuesday Club
Tuesdays 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
A group specifically for the older generation in our church and community where people gather for friendship, board games and table tennis for the more active! Refreshments and a short encouraging talk are also part of this gathering which has various socials throughout the year including days out and a Christmas dinner and dance.
